Our Summer Chamber Festival provides our students as well as students from outside our program with an intensive experience both in chamber music and string orchestra repertoire. The festival is open to string players and pianists ages 6-20. Students must complete an application and audition to be considered.

The festival welcomes violinists, violists, cellists and pianists ages 6-18. The festival provides our students with individualized attention and an intensive chamber music experience throughout the week, and is located in Manhasset, Long Island. Students will be placed in chamber groups according to their age and level. Students will also be placed in 1 of 3 string orchestras that will rehearse daily along side our esteemed faculty.
We look forward to several guest artists joining us and providing our students with masterclasses in both chamber music and solo repertoire throughout the week.
On Thursday evening we will have our annual pizza party outside in the courtyard with all our participating festival students and faculty. Following the pizza party, selected chamber music groups will perform in a masterclass for guest artist, violinist Kobi Malkin.
The festival will culminate in performances given by each chamber music group and orchestra on Saturday, August 20th. We are asking families to reserve Friday evening as an additional performance time depending on the number of students enrolled in this summer’s festival.
In response to requests from former festival students and families, we have added an extended day option for students 12 and older who are interested in participating in assisted practicing and technique building in their solo repertoire. Each participating student will receive two private lessons during this time throughout the week and will be engaged in additional presentations and workshops. This extended day runs Monday through Friday from 11am to 1pm (for students 12 years and older) and is optional for an additional $250 for the week.
We will follow the CDC guidelines for our festival this summer and will continue to update our safety requirements for attending the festival here on this page. All of our faculty will be fully vaccinated and boosted and we strongly recommend that any elligble festival participants recieve their full vaccinations before attending the festival.
Tuition for the festival is $875 per person (or $825 per person if registered and paid in full by June 1, 2022). If adding the extended day option, the additional tuition is $250 for the week.
Families registering 2 or more siblings can subtract 5% from the total registration.
Participation in all 6 days is required. Merit and need-based scholarships available.
